Year 8 - Parent & Teacher Meetings are taking place during the afternoons and evenings of Thursday 19th January 2023, and Thursday 2nd February 2023.
For the first time we are in a position to offer subject teacher meetings, giving parents the opportunity to meet with a range of subject teachers. With our school staff team still being a small group we are holding two different events specific to the following Year 8 classes.
8A, 8B, 8C and 8D on Thursday 19th January 2023
8E, 8F and 8G on Thursday 2nd February 2023
Please note that the academy will be closing early to students on these days, with students being dismissed from 2.00PM. This is to enable subject teachers and other staff to prepare for the sequence of meetings taking place throughout the afternoon and evening.
We are pleased to confirm that these meeting will take place in person at the academy.
Meetings are scheduled to be around 5 minutes in length to allow enough time for each parent to meet with as many subject teachers as possible. Meetings should be booked through SchoolCloud (see links on this page), with booking available from Tuesday 10th January at 6pm.
The student concerned and their parent should arrive at the academy at least 10mins in advance of their first in-person appointment in order to make the most of the time available.
Given the number of students some members of staff teach, there may be limitations on the availability of some staff in some subjects. We encourage all parents to make bookings as soon as possible in order to avoid disappointment.
Key items to be discussed:
How well has the student performed in their subjects throughout the year so far? (Using the students' reports as a guide)
What is the quality of their work in this subject and how can this improve? (Using the students’ books as a guide)
How good is their attitude to learning in this subject (effort, behaviour, or prep / homework)?
