Admissions Appeals

If you have been refused a place you have a right of appeal to an independent appeal panel constituted and operated in accordance with the School Admission Appeals Code. Please note that you can only appeal against the refusal of a place if you applied for a place at Christ Church, Church of England Secondary Academy.

Appeal applications should be made in writing to the Chair of the Governing Board for Christ Church, Church of England Secondary Academy. You must give written reasons for your appeal. We will ask the Church of England Birmingham to arrange an Independent Appeals Panel to hear the appeal.

Admission Appeals for children due to start Secondary School in September 2025

If your child is due to start secondary school (Year 7 entry) in September 2023 the deadline for lodging appeals to Christ Church, Church of England Secondary Academy is 31st March 2025

Appeals received by CCSA by 31st March 2025 will be heard in June 2025, where practical.

Appeals received after 31st March 2025 (late appeals) will be heard in June 2025 where practical, or within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged (whichever is later), where practical. Please note that it may not be possible to hear late appeals before the start of the new school year in September 2025.

In-year Admission Appeals

If your child has been refused a place at Christ Church, Church of England Secondary Academy outside the normal round of admissions (i.e. at any time other than as above), you may appeal within 28 calendar days of the refusal of the place. Your appeal will, where practical, be heard within 30 school days of being lodged. In-year Appeal applications must be made in writing to the Chair of the Governing Board for Christ Church, Church of England Secondary Academy.
