Uniform expectations
Students are expected to be in full and correct uniform each and everyday that they attend CCSA. Wearing the correct uniform is key to setting high standards that we strive for at CCSA, whilst bringing us together as one school community that can flourish.
As stated, it is an expectation that all students wear the correct uniform, should a student have a specific item of uniform missing, they will be expected to borrow the item from our school uniform shop and return it at the end of the day. No sanction is imposed for this. However, should a student not meet the uniform expectations and refuse to use the item provided, this will constitute a breach of our behaviour policy. If a student borrows school uniform and either loses or damages the uniform, parents may be asked to replace the item borrowed to support the school.
Any non-uniform item of clothing or jewellery will be confiscated by the member of staff who encounters it.
Students and parents must also take note of the following:
· All items of uniform should be labelled clearly with the student’s full name to allow for quick return should an item be found.
· Non-collected lost property will be donated to a local charity shop at the end of each half term.
· Make up, false eyelashes, fake tan, and nail varnish should be professional and discrete. Long acrylic nails and not permitted.
· Hair bands, hair ties, head scarves, turbans, patkas and other head coverings worn for religious reasons must be plain white, grey, black or navy
· Decorative or oversize hairbands, hair ties or ribbons are not appropriate for school
· Hair should not be dyed unnatural colours. Hair should be worn in a manner which has regard for a smart personal appearance and safety in relation to any curriculum activity to be directed by the teacher during the lesson. As an inclusive school, we seek to avoid hair discrimination.
· Jewellery is not permitted to be worn, except for a single/pair of small gold or silver stud earrings. Standard watches are allowed, but smart watches, media players, fitness trackers and other electronic wearables are not allowed.
· Belts should be plain black with a simple buckle
· Hoodies and sweatshirts are not permitted and must not be brought to school, worn in the academy or on the way to and from school
· Outdoor coats are not permitted to be worn inside the academy buildings and must be removed on entering the building
· The academy blazer can only be removed at break and lunchtime. Students can request permission to take off their blazer during lesson
· Skirts must be at least knee length and never rolled up
· Only one pair of trousers is to be worn; no joggers should be worn underneath school trousers
· No badges or pins should be worn on the uniform, unless issued by the academy
The following equipment should be carried in the school bag each day - a pencil case containing a black/blue pen, a green pen, a pencil, a ruler, and a calculator. The student will also be required to bring their Student Planner (school will provide this item).
