Year 7

Year 7 is focussed around our students starting to build and grow their knowledge of different careers and pathways, and understanding their own areas of strengths in relation to employability skills. Use of Unifrog in Year 7 is focussed around building a foundation of wide knowledge, and students getting to understand the platform.

Upcoming Events

A whole year-group trip to see The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe at the Birmingham Rep Theatre. All students will use this opportunity to also learn about careers in the theatre and acting industry, completing a mini-research project around the different employment opportunities on offer.

A guest assembly, co-ordinated and organised by the Birmingham Careers Hub, where students will interact with a number of different employers and workers from a range of industries. Students will be guessing the job of each individual, with the opportunity to then ask direct questions about the day-to-day realities of each role.

All students in Year 7 will be creating and delivering a reflective speech on their experience of Year 7. They will make use of Unifrog to look back on their careers learning, as well as reflecting on their academic learning over the year. This speech will build our students oracy skills, whilst also helping them to consider their successes from Year 7, as well as their areas for development in Year 8.
