Admissions Policy

Christ Church Academy welcomes children of all abilities and from all faith backgrounds and none. We believe everyone is of equal value and everyone deserves the best.

The Admissions Policy for Christ Church Academy will satisfy requirements of the School Admissions Code, the School Admissions Appeals Code and admissions law. The admissions process will be inclusive, open, fair and transparent.

The Planned Admissions Number (PAN) for the school will be 180. Each year 180 pupils will be admitted to Year 7, subject to the judgements of an independent appeals panel. When full, the school will have 1,150 students on roll including 250 in the sixth form.

In accordance with the law, children with statements of Special Educational Need or with an Education Health and Care Plan will be admitted to the school where the Local Authority has specifically named Christ Church Academy as the most appropriate placement. In the event of there being greater demand than there are places available to the school, places will be offered using oversubscription criteria in keeping with the School Admissions Code. There will be no faith-based oversubscription criteria; those families who attend church will not be given priority in the oversubscription criteria.
