Curriculum intent

Through our curriculum we strive to inspire every pupil to become physically literate individuals promoting their holistic development. Our aim is to provide outstanding provision of sport and physical activities for all students of all abilities. Igniting a passion for movement and cultivating a lifelong love of physical activities and healthy habits.

Curriculum implementation

Our curriculum is based on the national curriculum for physical education. Our curriculum aims to develop pupil’s physical literacy and holistic development by ensuring all students:       

  • Experience a broad and balanced curriculum that develops competence to achieve in a variety of physical activities    

  • Engage in competitive, team and individual sports and activities to build character and embed values such as fairness and respect    

  • Remain physically active for sustained periods of time  

  • Develop the skills, knowledge, behaviours, and habits to live healthy and physically active lives   

  • Develop transferable skills to flourish in sport, school, employment, and life (including teamwork, resilience, independence, creativity, empathy and leadership)  

  • Experience extra-curricular opportunities to enhance sporting experiences and create lifelong memories

Extra curricular physical education

At CCSA, we believe that a well-rounded education goes beyond the classroom. Our school offers an extensive array of extracurricular physical activities and experiences that cater to a wide range of interests and abilities.   
  
Our PE timetable is created termly based on parental and student views to help us gauge an idea of what activities our students would like to participate in.  Here is an example of our extra curricular provision (updated termly):
