CCSA Founding Families Update - 8th April 2022

Thank you, from all of us here at CCSA, for all of your hard work and support throughout this term. Although we live in a time where we often hear bad news about how those less fortunate than ourselves are suffering around the world, it is great to hear the good news of the gospel in Jesus Christ. So many of us need encouragement to face the many setbacks that could easily become opportunities for discouragement and even despair. This Easter we remember that the Lord is risen! All things are possible with God!

We at CCSA are incredibly thankful to our students for demonstrating excellence, with our Year 7 students amassing well over 30,000 commendations this academic year so far!  This represents an average of over 160 commendations per student!  Congratulations to our Year 7 students on this achievement, which represents a benchmark to surpass next term and next academic year.

With so many students learning, flourishing and celebrating truth every day at CCSA, it is a difficult task to award just two of them a Headteacher’s Award this term, as there are so many students in the running. In acknowledgement for their conscientiousness, hard work, kindness and commitment to our mission and values, I am honoured to inform you that this term’s award go to Renee 7A and Harry 7G. Congratulations to Renee and Harry!

CCSA is a school for every young person who is passionate about learning, willing to work hard and ready to challenge and develop themselves in a Christian community. As always I ask that you please take the time over the break to review your child’s commendations and celebrate them at home where possible. Please also take the time to review your child’s profile on our Parent Portal / Arbor App, and reflect on any areas for improvement around our student code of conduct.

I wish you all a very pleasant Easter celebration and end of term holiday. I look forward to welcoming all our students back to school on Tuesday 26th April.

Best wishes,

Mr. Bowman Dalton

Covid-19 arrangements from 26th April

From next half term. In response to recent changes in government guidance for schools and national health advice, our approach to managing Covid-19 infection rates becomes as follows:

  • Masks and face coverings are not to be warn by students, unless as part of a medical plan.  This includes all classroom spaces, communal areas and outdoor spaces.

  • All students must attend school every day:

    • Students with mild symptoms such as a runny nose, sore throat, or mild cough, who are otherwise well, can continue to attend school.

    • Children and young people who live with someone who has a positive COVID-19 test result should continue to attend as normal.

  • Children and young people who are unwell and have a high temperature will be asked stay at home and where possible avoid contact with other people. They can go back to school when they no longer have a high temperature, and they are well enough.

  • If a child or young person has a positive COVID-19 test result they will be asked to stay at home and where possible avoid contact with other people for 3 days after the day they took the test. This is because the risk of passing the infection on to others is much lower after 3 days if they feel well and do not have a high temperature.

Uniform expectations

At CCSA all students must be wearing full and correct uniform every day.

In particular we expect all students to wear black leather school shoes (no boots, trainers or sports branding) and dark grey formal school trousers or a dark grey pleated formal school skirt, unless they are in PE kit. We also expect all students to wear their CCSA blazer at all times (unless specific permission has been granted by a teacher), including days where students are in PE kit.

Our policy states that no student will be permitted to engage in learning with the rest of the school community unless in full school uniform. You can find full details of our uniform policy at the link below:

CCSA student ID cards

All students have been issued with a CCSA student card which enables them to purchase items in the restaurant and will soon be providing them access to other systems such as library services and printing services. The student card is an essential part of the academy equipment list and all students must have their card with them every day.
