Year 6 Transition Day - Wednesday 6th July 2022 – Remote learning at home for most Year 7 students

We look forward to welcoming Year 6 students with confirmed places for September 2022 on our transition day, taking place on Wednesday 6th July 2022.

Parents of current Year 7 students should note that special arrangements will be in place on this day, as not all students can be accommodated on site due to staffing restrictions.

  • Student leaders and subject ambassadors will be involved in supporting activities on the day.  These students will be notified in advance of the day about their schedule.

  • Year 7 students without specific leadership roles on the day will be set a remote learning pack to complete at home during the day.  We understand that this may not be possible in some cases so please let the office know if you need you child to complete this work in school during that day (info@christchurchsecondary.org.uk) by Friday June 24th.

Year 7 Parent & Tutor Meetings – Tuesday 12th July 2022

Year 7 - Parent & Tutor Meetings are taking place during the afternoon and evening of Tuesday 12th July 2022.  Please note that the academy will be closing early to students that day, with students being dismissed from 12.25PM.  This is to enable Form Tutors and other staff to prepare for the sequence of meetings taking place throughout the afternoon and evening.

We are pleased to confirm that these meeting will take place in person at the academy.

Meetings are a maximum of 10 minutes in length to allow enough time for all the required form meetings. Meetings should be booked through SchoolCloud (see below), with booking available from Monday 13th June at 6pm.

The student concerned and their parent should arrive at the academy at least 10mins in advance of an in person appointment in order to make the most of the time available.

Key items to be discussed:

  1. How well has the student performed in their subjects throughout the year? (Using the students' report as a guide)

  2. Are there successes to be celebrated?

  3. Are there concerns about the student's effort, behaviour, or prep / homework?

Our Parents’ Evening system is SchoolCloud which lets parents book and manage meetings from their phone or computer.

Find out more about how to access SchoolCloud here.
